The Roman Road Gospel Presentation
I. God’s power can make you secure.
Romans 1:16 – “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”
II. God’s power results in change.
Romans 2:4 – “God’s kindness leads you toward repentance.”
III. Sin makes change necessary.
Romans 3:23 – “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
IV. God loves you.
Romans 5:8 – “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
V. Sin earns death, but God offers life.
Romans 6:23 – “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
VI. Confessing Jesus as Lord; trusting in Him who paid for sin on the cross; and believing that as Christ rose from the dead so also will we in Him:
Romans 10:9-10, 13 – “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’.”
VII. Repentance means changing the direction of your life and living a God-oriented life through the power of the Holy Spirit.
See Luke 3:7-14.
VIII. Believing means trusting Jesus with your life.
See Romans 10:9.
IX. Calling on the name of the Lord means asking Him for forgiveness of sin.
Sample prayer: Lord Jesus, I need You. I want You to be my Savior. I accept Your death on the cross as the payment for my sins, and I now entrust my life to Your care. Thank You for forgiving me and for giving me new life. Please help me grow as a Christian so that my life will bring glory and honor to You. Amen.
X. You now have hope.
Romans 8:16-17, 38-39 – “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
You now have eternal life.
XI. Faith = life for God.
Romans 12:1-2 – “I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”.
